On Thursday September 20th, DPMS had a cross country meet against Indian Hills, Eastmont and Albion Middle. As a school,  we got first place overall in both boys and girls. For the boys, McKay W, Grayson M. and JJ P. got 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall. For the girls, Bre K. got 2nd and Courtney M. got 3rd.

Brycon G., a 6th grader this year, said that the reason he got into cross country’s  because he wanted to be faster than before and he wanted to push his limits. McKay W., the winner for the boys, said that it was his parents that got him into cross country.  Nicole S., who just started cross country this year, likes it because she gets to hang out with her friends. Many others also said that they really enjoy the social aspect of cross country.

If you’re interested in cross country, see Ms. Stenten in room 2321. Practice is every Monday and Thursday for about an hour on the field behind the school.
