Troy Polamalu Life

Troy Polamalu was a safety for the Pittsburgh Steelers.  He played for them for 12 years from 2003 to 2015.  Polamalu was born April 19, 1981, in Garden Grove, California. He is the youngest of 5 children,1 brother and 3 sisters. When Troy reached the age of 8 he moved to Tenmile, Oregon because his mother was concerned about the negative activities in Los Angeles. He moved in with his uncle, aunt and cousins.

Polamalu went to Douglas High School. In high school he played multiple sports including baseball, basketball and football. He mainly focused on football. After his high school years he went to play college football at The University of Southern California(USC). After some years in college he was drafted into the NFL by the Pittsburgh Steelers at the 16th overall pick.

His first rookie season he played amazingly with the stats of 1 forced fumble, 48 combined tackles with 35 of those being solo tackles and 2 sacks.  The Pittsburgh Steelers head coach at the time, Bill Cowher, knew he picked someone special. Going on with his career he would help the Steelers win 2 Super Bowls and become Defensive Player of the year in 2010. Troy Polamalu was announced to the hall of fame last year.
