Young teens hypnotized by social media

Social media is programmed to draw teens in which can cause addictions. Something people don’t know is that social media like Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, and more can give kids depression and anxiety.

Many people in our modern world have social media so kids/teens have felt the pressure of needing a phone and social media.  Many kids have felt bullied or made fun of for not having a phone and some parents have given in and gotten their child a phone.

Social media makes you feel jealous and insecure.  Kids see their friends hanging out without them and they feel excluded and unworthy. This can cause self harm, eating disorders, depression, and suicidal thoughts.

According to the Mayo Clinic, “Social media use can also negatively affect teens, distracting them, disrupting their sleep, and exposing them to bullying, rumor spreading, unrealistic views of other people’s lives and peer pressure.”

Are all these effects worth it?
