DPMS Bans Phones

In August, at DPMS, a new rule was made called the phone ban.

The phone ban banned phones on school grounds unless kept in students’ backpacks.

Since the rule was new, students were unsure about when they could use phones.   In September, the school had an assembly for every grade about the phone ban.  This assembly taught students that using phones can be harmful.  The phone ban was discussed.

A lot of people disliked the phone ban and usually ignored the rule and used their phones in secret.

Some students at DPMS have issues like socializing during lunch and would use their phones during lunch.
Students who struggle with socializing at lunch are now learning to be more social.

Though the phone ban has some good additions like less distractions during class, increased social interactions and socializing, many students find it difficult.
