Your stomach growls an hour and thirty minutes into the school day. Why? Because you didn’t eat breakfast before school and lunch is in another two and a half hours away. Plan ahead, wake up 10 minutes earlier, and save yourself from from a growling stomach.

Samantha Curtis, a seventh grader student at DPMS, said, “Yes, I do eat breakfast. It is never healthy though because I don’t have enough time in the morning to make it a healthy one. When I do eat, it is almost always on the go in the car or out the door.”

Kids need to wake up earlier so they have plenty of time to eat their breakfast.

“I don’t eat breakfast because I don’t have enough time in the morning to, so I just go until lunch with a growling stomach. It is hard to concentrate on my work because I am hungry,” said Eliza Jones, a seventh grader.

Jones added, “It is hard for students to concentrate with a growling stomach. It is harder to learn when your stomach is growling.”

Reagan Crayk, a seventh grader said, “I do eat breakfast but I have to wake up earlier so that I have time to eat. When I do eat breakfast it is a ton easier to concentrate on my work and get good grades.”

Amy Smith, a nutritionist, said, “You need to eat breakfast in the morning because your body needs to get up and going and it needs fuel for the day, and it starts your metabolism which makes it easier to learn.”

So breakfast really is the most important meal of the day according to Amy Smith. Kids really need to wake up ten minutes earlier to eat breakfast, So save yourself from a growling stomach.
